Pink Please

Emma asked me to create a torso that captured all of her personality...... and that is vibrant, fun, beautiful and feminine. No surprise her favourite colour of course is PINK. Bling and shimmer and sparkle and shine combined with ribbons, beads and flowers galore, adorn this wall art for her art room. It is just yummy to look at and I hope she loves the final aristry that I created from her candy coloured vision.

Whisper of the Muse

Huge thank you to my Model Noni, who captured the feel of a vintage garden nymph meets shabby chic cotoure. A sheer skirt complimented a paper mache corsette and more than 100 paper and fabric flowers layered an altered to create this wearable piece of art.

Titled the whisper of the muse.... the poetry mosaics told the sotry of the original French beaux arts ball of the 1930's.

Sneak Peak: Perth Arts Beaux Ball

With only a 10 day window to create a concept, cast a model and construct the design.. I wasn't sure I would get it all together. But I have been on track so far.... Here are a few sneak peaks of lving art work in the making. Taking what is normally a torso casting for wall art nad transforming it into a wearbale corsette. The piece is called "The Whisper of the Muse". More photos will be posted after the event has taken place and the outfit is complete.

In the Studio

I have been very busy creating over the past month. In my studio there are two tosro castings and a pregnancy cast ready for artistry. Jodie's torso is being inspired by Bon Jovi; so the design features, black leather, red hearts, mosaic lyrics, and of cause a rose or two. The other torso casting for Emma, is all about "the pink". shades of magenta, fairy floss, rose, cherise, pink, candy, are accented with a personalised mosaic poem ... lots of bling, flwoers and ribbons.

The pregnanct cast is a gorgeous shape and will be a vintage brown and cream , with subtle hints of blue floral cascade wall sconce.

But for now....... they are on hold as I have been asked to enter the Perth Arts Beaux Ball and deadlines are near

Lulu Tissu

Along the way in life, you meet people who inspire you and their energy or artisitic flair get your creativity flowing. Denise Fisher is the artist behind Lulu Tissu: A company that style artisan bags, hats, brooches, scarves and clothing. I have only met her twice and on both occassions, left with excitement. Her colours, fabrics and unusual designs truly grab my attention. I can not wait to see her new range of fabrics soon. Check out http://lulutissu.blogspot.com/ . Photo of my new brooch!

Sherbet Blossom

The colours in this casting remind me of sweet soft sherbet. Pastels of green, yellow, pink, mauve and peach are blended together for fresh, feminine artistry. The process starts with paper mache, and I build up muslin, glimmer spray, handmande flowers, beading, lace and lacquer to create each casting.

Abbey Rose

Abbey Rose was born 25th June 2011, and photographed at two days old back in her tummy casting from 39 weeks gestation. The Holy Trinity inspired the mosaic poem and ends with, "The Holy Trinity may be the bond between mother, father and daughter. Forever in faith, together in life, eternal in joy"
